Common Help Topics

  • iCloud Sync: iCloud Sync is optional, off by default, and included with Ritualune. It uses your personal iCloud account. If sync seems delayed, confirm both devices are signed into iCloud, iCloud is enabled for Ritualune, and give CloudKit a moment to deliver updates in the background.
  • Apple Health steps: Health step import is optional, free, read-only, and stores imported step counts locally on that device. Step counts are not synced by Ritualune through iCloud, though a small local widget snapshot may include step progress if you add Ritualune widgets.
  • Reminders: Reminder notifications are local notifications on your device. You can adjust or disable them in Ritualune or iOS Settings.
  • Data export: Ritualune can generate a CSV export locally on your device when you choose to export.

Apple Health Step Import

To connect steps, open Ritualune Settings, find Health Steps, tap Connect Apple Health, then approve step count access in Apple's Health permission sheet. After access is connected, Ritualune imports available step-count history from Apple Health and refreshes recent local records when the app opens or you import again.

  • Permission denied: Open iOS Settings, go to Health permissions for Ritualune, and allow step count access. Then return to Ritualune and tap Connect Apple Health or Import Health history now.
  • Missing steps: Confirm the Apple Health app shows step data for the same dates. Ritualune can only import step counts that Apple Health has available on that device.
  • Health history import: Ritualune imports available Apple Health step-count history to local storage on that device. Use Import Health history now to refresh it manually.
  • Revoking access: You can turn off Health access in iOS Settings at any time. Existing local step records can be removed in Ritualune Settings by turning off Health Steps, or with app reset/delete controls.
  • Multiple devices: Health step data is locally imported in Ritualune. Each device imports from Apple Health independently after permission is granted on that device.

Privacy and Data

Ritualune stores app data in a local app database by default and does not send it to developer servers. Apple device or iCloud backups may include local app data depending on your device settings. Optional Apple Health step counts are locally imported on device, are not stored in Ritualune's iCloud sync store, and are not sent to developer servers. The developer does not operate a separate backend service for your personal logs, notes, routines, weekly plans, check-ins, or Health step data.

Support Ongoing Development

Ritualune's current features are included with no subscription. Optional support helps cover maintenance and future improvements. It does not change app access.

Deleting Data

You can remove app data using in-app delete or reset controls, or by deleting the app from your device. If iCloud Sync is enabled, deleting synced data in the app removes it from the private iCloud store and the deletion syncs to other signed-in devices after iCloud processes it. Delete All Data also clears the local widget snapshot used by Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets.
